To mark Chinese New Year, the Confirel showrooms in Phnom Penh invited their customers to celebrate the start of the Year of the Snake in a festive and gourmet atmosphere. From 25 January to 15 February 2025, visitors had the opportunity to discover the treasures of the Khmer terroir and receive an angpao, the famous red envelope symbolizing prosperity, containing some of our products to be won.

The showrooms were also decorated in the colors of the New Year during this period.

The Year of the Snake, associated with wisdom and transformation, promises a period of reflection and opportunity. According to Chinese astrology, it calls for patience and strategy, so that you can achieve your goals with intelligence and perseverance.

Chinese New Year is widely celebrated in Cambodia due to the historic presence of a large Sino-Khmer community. For centuries, the Chinese have migrated to Cambodia for trade and have integrated into local society, influencing the culture, cuisine and traditions. Today, many Khmer families have Chinese roots and perpetuate these festivities. Even Cambodians without Chinese ancestry often take part in the celebrations, because of the cultural and economic impact of the event, particularly in shops and businesses.
